Bliss Organic Salon is Melissa's launching pad for organic and creative conversations. Melissa holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Toxicology and an undergraduate degree in Soil & Water Resources. Melissa's passions include organic living, voluntary simplicity, cultivating local, green, sustainable business practices, recycling, resourcing and repurposing, knitting, whole foods, food foraging, mushroom hunting and fermentation.
Prior to running Bliss Organic Salon, Melissa helped homeowners declutter and live with less as a professional organizer with the Organic Organizer. She also served new mothers and newborns as a La Leche League Leader and certified Doula. She served her community financially as the Treasurer of her cohousing community's board of directors. In her first third of life, Melissa managed a worldwide clinical trial for a leading pharmaceutical company in the northeast, managed data as a scientist for drug metabolism and drug discovery studies, wore a lab coat as an analytical chemist, and did technical writing. Melissa homeschools her fabulous daughters a few days a week and tends to her community, home, beloved man, Dudley dog, and knitting & fermentation projects all days of the year.
